The UK Home Office has announced an increase in visa application fees for international students and their dependants, effective 8 April 2026. This update is part of the latest revisions under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).
Revised Fee Structure
The Student Visa fee (outside the UK) has been increased from £524 to £558
Dependant and entry clearance fees have also been revised to £558
Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) remains unchanged at £776 per year.
Additional Considerations
Applicants must continue to meet the prescribed maintenance fund requirements as per current UKVI guidelines. With the increase in visa costs, overall financial planning has become even more important for prospective applicants.
Advisory for Applicants
Applicants are strongly advised to:
Review the updated fee structure before applying
Ensure sufficient funds are maintained as per visa requirements
Plan applications in advance to avoid delays or financial shortfalls
This change will impact the overall cost of studying in the UK, particularly for those applying with dependants.
