The Australian government has doubled the application fees for some post-study visas, effective March 1, 2026. The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) application fee has increased from $2,300 to $4,600 for primary applicants. Secondary applicants, including family members, will now pay $2,300 for adults and $1,160 for those under 18 .
Key Changes:
– Primary applicant fee: $4,600 (was $2,300)
– Secondary applicant (18+): $2,300 (was $1,150)
– Secondary applicant (<18): $1,160 (was $580)
However, applicants from Pacific countries and Timor-Leste are exempt from this fee increase, paying the previous lower rates

– Fiji
– Papua New Guinea
– Samoa
– Timor-Leste
– Tonga
– Vanuatu
– Other Pacific nations
The fee hike aims to deter non-genuine applicants and fund visa integrity measures.
