OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream – Points Calculator

Your OINP score will appear here.

🇨🇦 Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Points Calculator – How It Works

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) helps skilled workers, international students, and others obtain permanent residence in Ontario.

Ontario uses a points-based Expression of Interest (EOI) system to rank candidates in many streams. This calculator estimates your points under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream and provides insight into the Human Capital Priorities Stream, which is linked to Express Entry.

Below you’ll find a clear explanation of how your points are calculated and what they mean.

🧭 What This Calculator Does

This tool has two sections:

Part A – Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream (EOI System)
This section uses Ontario’s official EOI grid to assign a score out of 110 points.

Part B – Human Capital Priorities Stream (Express Entry)
While Ontario uses your Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, this calculator helps you understand which factors Ontario prioritizes, such as language ability and education.

Important: You must meet minimum criteria for the stream you apply under, and your score alone does not guarantee an invitation.

🎯 Part A – OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

This is the main scoring grid for candidates with a job offer.

🔹 1. Job Offer Factors (Maximum 45 Points)

These points assess your job offer’s skill level, wage, and location.

Skill Level of Job Offer (NOC TEER Category)

  • TEER 0 (Management): 10 points

  • TEER 1 (Professional): 8 points

  • TEER 2 (Technical): 6 points

  • TEER 3 (Skilled): 4 points

  • TEER 4 (Intermediate): 2 points

Example:
If your job is a TEER 1 occupation (e.g., Software Developer), you get 8 points.

Hourly Wage Offered

  • $40/hour or more: 10 points

  • $35–39.99: 8 points

  • $30–34.99: 6 points

  • $25–29.99: 4 points

  • Below $25: 0 points

Tip:
A higher wage increases competitiveness.

Job Location

  • Outside Greater Toronto Area (GTA): 10 points

  • Inside GTA: 6 points

Why this matters:
Ontario prioritizes regional economic development.

🔹 2. Candidate Factors (Maximum 65 Points)

These points measure your personal profile.

Work Experience (in NOC of your job offer)

  • 5+ years: 10 points

  • 3–4 years: 8 points

  • 1–2 years: 6 points

  • Less than 1 year: 0 points

Education

  • PhD: 10 points

  • Master’s: 8 points

  • Bachelor’s: 6 points

  • College Diploma/Apprenticeship: 5 points

  • Less than College: 0 points

Language Proficiency (Lowest CLB in any skill)

  • CLB 9+: 10 points

  • CLB 8: 8 points

  • CLB 7: 6 points

  • CLB 6: 4 points

Note:
Even if one skill is below CLB 6, no points are awarded in this section.

Age

  • 25–29: 10 points

  • 18–24: 8 points

  • 30–44: 6 points

  • 45–49: 4 points

  • 50–54: 2 points

  • 55+: 0 points

Regional Immigration Pilot (Bonus)

  • If applying through a designated regional pilot community: +10 bonus points

🧮 Example Calculation (Employer Job Offer Stream)

Scenario:

  • TEER 1 job (8 points)

  • Wage $38/hour (8 points)

  • Outside GTA (10 points)

  • 4 years experience (8 points)

  • Master’s degree (8 points)

  • CLB 8 (8 points)

  • Age 28 (10 points)

  • No regional pilot

Total: 60 points out of 110

✅ A higher score improves your ranking in the Expression of Interest pool.

🎯 Part B – Human Capital Priorities Stream

This stream does not use EOI points. Instead:
✅ You must be in the Express Entry pool.
✅ Ontario uses your CRS score and profile to invite candidates.

Ontario also prioritizes:

  • High language proficiency

  • Canadian education

  • Canadian or Ontario work experience

  • Targeted NOC occupations (e.g., tech, healthcare)

  • French language skills

French proficiency can add up to 50 extra CRS points.

⚠️ Important Notes & Validation Rules

✅ You must:

  • Accurately convert your language test results to CLB levels

  • Make sure education and TEER categories match official definitions

  • Be between 18–65 years old

✅ Your wage must be in Canadian dollars per hour.

✅ This calculator provides an unofficial estimate.

📈 What is a Competitive Score?

While OINP does not always publish cutoffs, historical draws often favor scores above 60–70 points (EOI) and CRS scores 450+ (Express Entry).

Note:
Even with a high score, you must still meet program eligibility criteria.
