Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) continue to play a vital role in addressing regional labour shortages, with several provinces conducting invitation rounds throughout July 2026. The latest draws indicate that provinces remain focused on attracting skilled professionals, international graduates, entrepreneurs, and workers with experience in occupations facing labour shortages.

What Does This Mean for Skilled Immigration?
The consistent PNP activity across multiple provinces demonstrates Canada’s continued commitment to addressing regional workforce shortages through targeted immigration. Provinces are increasingly selecting candidates whose skills align with local economic priorities rather than relying solely on high Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.
For skilled professionals planning to immigrate to Canada, Provincial Nominee Programs remain one of the strongest pathways to permanent residence. A provincial nomination not only aligns applicants with regional labour market needs but also provides a significant advantage in the Express Entry system through an additional 600 CRS points.
As provinces continue to conduct regular invitation rounds, candidates with strong occupational profiles and well-prepared applications may have increased opportunities to receive nominations in the coming months.
