Tightened Rules for Foreign Workers
– Care providers must now prioritize hiring UK-based candidates before seeking international talent.
– Employers must obtain confirmation from regional partnerships that they've attempted to recruit domestically.
Increased Visa Application Costs
– Skilled Worker visa fees are rising:
– 3 years or less: £769 (up from £719)
– Over 3 years: £1,519 (up from £1,420)
– Health and Care Worker visa fees are also increasing:
– 3 years or less: £304 (up from £284)
– Over 3 years: £590 (up from £551)
Changes to Skilled Worker Visas
– The minimum salary threshold is increasing to £25,000 per year.
– Entry-level Band 3 roles in healthcare will no longer meet the salary threshold ¹ ².
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
– The ETA application fee is rising from £10 to £16.
– All travelers to the UK (except British and Irish nationals) will need an ETA or eVisa
