Australia is modernising its border entry process by replacing the traditional paper Incoming Passenger Card with a new digital Australia Travel Declaration.
What’s Changing?
International travellers will gradually complete their arrival declaration online instead of filling out the orange paper form on the flight.
The digital declaration will include:
Customs declarations
Biosecurity questions
Travel information
The rollout will happen progressively across Australia’s international airports and seaports over the next 12–18 months. The system will initially be available through a web-based form, with app integration planned for the future. More than 450,000 passengers have already participated in pilot trials on selected Qantas flights.
