The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) allows skilled workers to be nominated by Nova Scotia for permanent residence in Canada.

This calculator helps you estimate your points under Nova Scotia’s Skilled Worker Stream, which uses a 100-point grid similar to the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

🎯 How NSNP Points Are Determined

Your eligibility score is calculated across six key selection factors, totaling a maximum of 100 points:

1️⃣ Education (Maximum 25 Points)

Points are awarded based on your highest completed education:

2️⃣ Language Proficiency (Maximum 28 Points)

Nova Scotia awards points based on your first and second official language proficiency.

First Official Language (English or French):

  • CLB 9+: 6 points per ability

  • CLB 8: 5 points per ability

  • CLB 7: 4 points per ability

  • Below CLB 7: 0 points

Second Official Language:

  • CLB 5+ in all abilities: 4 points

3️⃣ Work Experience (Maximum 15 Points)

Points are awarded for paid, skilled work experience in the last 10 years:

Points for factors like spouse language skills, Canadian work/study experience, or relatives:

  • Spouse CLB 4+: 5 points

  • Applicant studied in Canada (2+ years): 5 points

  • Applicant worked in Canada (1 year): 10 points

  • Relative in Canada: 5 points

Important: Maximum 10 points total for adaptability.

Scenario:

  • Master’s degree: 23 points

  • CLB 9 in all abilities: 24 points

  • 4 years experience: 13 points

  • Age 32: 12 points

  • Valid job offer: 10 points

  • Relative in Canada: 5 points

Total:
23 +24 +13 +12 +10 +5 = 87/100 points

Minimum Required: 67 Points
