Tasmania has conducted another round of skilled migration invitations, issuing 66 invitations across the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 state nomination pathways.
According to the latest update from Migration Tasmania, invitations were issued on 10 September 2026 as part of the state’s 2026–27 Skilled Migration State Nomination Program.
66 Invitations Issued
The latest invitation round included:
- Subclass 190: 40 invitations
- 6 Gold invitations
- 34 Green invitations
- Subclass 491: 26 invitations
- 3 Gold invitations
- 23 further invitations
The lowest Registration of Interest (ROI) scores invited were 502 points for Subclass 190 and 74 points for Subclass 491.
Tasmania’s 2026–27 Skilled Migration Program
Tasmania received 2,050 nomination places for the 2026–27 program year, comprising:
- 1,250 places for Subclass 190
- 800 places for Subclass 491
The state commenced weekly invitation rounds from 20 August 2026, with invitations being issued progressively throughout the program year.
As of the latest update, 1,018 Subclass 190 places and 732 Subclass 491 places remained available. Migration Tasmania also reported 890 submitted ROIs for Subclass 190 and 603 for Subclass 491 following the latest invitation round.
Important Update for Overseas Applicants
Tasmania has also confirmed that it will not issue invitations through the Subclass 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles (OSOP) invitation-only pathway during the 2026–27 program year.
However, overseas health and teaching professionals who obtain employment with a Tasmanian health provider or school may still be considered under the Subclass 190 Overseas Applicant – Health or Education Sector Job Offer pathway.
What Happens After an Invitation?
Candidates who receive an invitation can proceed with their nomination application, subject to meeting Tasmania’s requirements and providing evidence supporting the claims made in their ROI.
An invitation to apply for state nomination is valid for 28 days. If Tasmania approves the nomination, the applicant can then receive an invitation through SkillSelect to apply for the relevant visa.
The latest September invitation round reflects Tasmania’s continued use of its state nomination program to select skilled candidates for the 2026–27 program year.
