March 8, 2025 – Canada has announced new admissions targets under its recently launched Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot (HCWP), aiming to grant permanent residency to 2,750 home care workers in 2025. Of the total 2,750 admissions, 150 spots will be specifically reserved for home care workers currently out of status in Canada. The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot (HCWP) is designed to simplify the immigration process for caregivers, making it easier for them to secure permanent residency while continuing to provide essential care services to Canadians. Minister Miller emphasized that the program will not only help fill critical gaps in the healthcare workforce but also provide stability and security for caregivers and their families.
