In a significant development, Canada has announced an increase in its 2025 immigration quota for four provinces: Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. This move aims to address labor shortages and support economic growth in these regions.
The provinces have received the following quota increases:
– Alberta: 1,528 additional nominations, totaling 6,403
– Saskatchewan: 1,136 additional nominations, totaling 4,761
– New Brunswick: 1,500 additional PNP spots, totaling 3,000, and 1,250 AIP slots, totaling 4,250
– Newfoundland and Labrador: 1,000 additional PNP spots, totaling 2,525
These increases will help alleviate labor shortages in critical sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, skilled trades, and technology.
