OINP Changes: What’s New?
– Employer-Led Application Model: Starting July 2, 2025, employers will submit job offer details through a new online Employer Portal before foreign nationals can register an Expression of Interest (EOI).
– Affected Streams: The change applies to three streams ¹:
– Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream: For skilled workers with a job offer in Ontario.
– Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream: For international graduates with a job offer from an Ontario employer.
– Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream: For workers in high-demand occupations.
Timeline:
– June 20 – July 2: No new EOIs will be accepted under the Employer Job Offer streams.
– June 21 – June 22: Existing EOIs will automatically expire and be removed from the OINP system.
– June 27 – June 29: The OINP online application system will be temporarily unavailable.
– July 2: The new Employer Portal will go live, allowing employers to register and submit job offers.
Rationale:
– Streamlined Oversight: The new model aims to improve oversight and data security.
– Increased Employer Involvement: Employers will be more actively involved in the immigration process
