The Victorian Government has officially closed the 2025–26 Skilled Visa Nomination Program to new Registrations of Interest (ROIs) from 28 April 2026.
According to the latest update, all ROIs submitted before the closure will continue to be assessed against the remaining nomination allocations for the current program year. Applicants who have already lodged an ROI are not required to submit a new application.
The government has also clarified that applicants who choose to withdraw their ROI will not be permitted to submit another ROI until the 2026–27 program officially opens.
Victoria’s 2025–26 Nomination Allocation
For the current program year, Victoria received a total of 3,400 nomination places, including:
- 2,700 places for Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
- 700 places for Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)
The early closure highlights the exceptionally high demand for Victorian state nomination among skilled migration applicants across various occupations.
What Existing Applicants Should Do
Applicants with active EOIs and ROIs are advised to:
- Keep all EOI and ROI details updated
- Ensure passports, English tests, skills assessments, and other supporting documents remain valid
- Monitor official Victorian Government announcements for further program updates and future intake information
Victoria continues to remain one of the most competitive and sought-after Australian states for skilled migration pathways due to its strong economy, employment opportunities, and lifestyle benefits.
For applicants planning Australian PR pathways, strategic profile planning and timely submission remain critical as competition for state nomination continues to intensify.
