Thailand has officially rolled back its 60-day visa-free entry scheme for Indian travellers, marking a major shift in the countryโs tourism and immigration policy. Indian passport holders are now expected to travel primarily through the Visa on Arrival (VoA) or regular tourist visa routes.
The move was approved by the Thai Cabinet in May 2026 as part of stricter immigration measures aimed at controlling overstays, illegal work activities, and misuse of tourist entries. Thailand has stated that the focus is now shifting from visitor volume to attracting โquality tourists.โ
