Australia has officially revised its visa application charges effective 1 July 2026, with fee increases across most major visa categories. The changes impact skilled migration, employer-sponsored, student, partner, and several other visa subclasses.
Some of the key revised application charges include:
- Skilled Independent (Subclass 189): AUD 4,910 → AUD 6,135
- Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190): AUD 4,910 → AUD 6,140
- Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491): AUD 4,910 → AUD 6,140
- Skills in Demand (Subclass 482): AUD 3,210 → AUD 4,015
- Student Visa (Subclass 500): AUD 2,000 → AUD 2,500
- Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485): AUD 4,600 → AUD 5,750
- Partner Visa: AUD 9,365 → AUD 11,710
What this means for applicants
Anyone planning to lodge an Australian visa application should ensure they account for the revised government charges before submitting their application. As visa application charges are generally non-refundable, careful preparation and choosing the right visa pathway are more important than ever.
